Peer to peer
Peer-to-peer betting, with no house in the middle.
Every bet is between two sides of real people. Nobody prices the line, nobody takes a margin on it, and nobody limits you for winning.
What a bookmaker costs you
The margin is in the price
A sportsbook builds its cut into every line, so you are paying it whether you win or lose.
They choose the markets
You can only bet what they decided to offer, priced how they decided to price it.
Winning can get you limited
Consistent winners are a cost to a bookmaker, and books manage that cost.
How peer-to-peer betting works here
- 01
Write the question
Any yes or no question. Name the two sides in your own words and set the stake. There is no list of approved markets to pick from.
- 02
Share the link
Send it to the group chat. A private bet opens only through that link, so it stays between the people you sent it to.
- 03
Everyone stakes to join
Taking a side means putting the money in. The stake is held until the bet settles, so nobody is owed anything at the end.
- 04
The group calls it
Everyone who wagered votes on the result and the majority decides. The pot pays out onchain, with no bookmaker taking a cut of the line.
Peer to peer, in practice
There is no line
Nobody sets a price. You and the other side agree the question and the stake between yourselves.
The stake is held
Both sides put the money in to take part, so peer to peer does not mean chasing an IOU afterwards.
Settlement is onchain
The result is confirmed by the people who wagered and the pot pays out onchain, where anyone can check it.
Questions people ask
Is peer-to-peer betting the same as a betting exchange?
Not quite. An exchange still lists the markets and matches you with strangers at a market price. Here you write the question yourself and send it to specific people.
Who takes the other side of my bet?
Whoever you share the link with. That is the trade-off: no waiting on liquidity, but nothing happens until someone you know takes it.
Is there really no house edge?
There is no bookmaker margin in the price, because there is no price. Poll takes a small percentage from winning payouts only, which is a fee rather than an edge built into the odds.
What if we disagree on the result?
Everyone who wagered votes and the majority decides. Ties and unresolvable bets refund in full with no fee.
