Fantasy league buy-ins

Stop chasing your league for the buy-in.

Put the league pot in one private bet. Everyone stakes it themselves, and the money stays out of your account until the league settles it.

You never have to hold the league's money.

If it goes sideways

The awkward cases already have answers.

Fantasy seasons fall apart. These are the rules Poll already runs on, so you can point at them instead of promising anything.

Someone never joins
They never staked, so nothing of theirs is in the pot and there is nothing to hand back.
The league calls it off
A bet cancelled after other people have joined refunds everyone who wagered.
The vote ends level
A tie, or an outcome nobody can determine, returns every wager in full. No fee.
Nobody ever settles it
Every bet carries a refund fallback date. If it is still unresolved then, wagers are refunded.

Commissioner questions

The things your league will ask you.

Send them this section when the group chat starts asking where the money went.

Can I make everyone put in the same buy-in?

You set a minimum wager, anywhere from $0.01 to $100, and nobody can join for less than that. Poll does not cap what someone stakes, so a league mate can put in more if they want to.

How do I know who has not paid yet?

The bet page lists everyone who has staked and the pot so far, so there is one place to look instead of six chat threads. Poll never sees your league roster, so working out who is still missing is on you.

Where does the money sit during the season?

Funds are held in secure, non-custodial wallets on Solana. The Poll team cannot access or move your money, and neither can the commissioner. Every settlement happens onchain, so anyone in the league can verify it.

Does Poll connect to Sleeper, ESPN, or Yahoo?

No. Poll does not import teams, matchups, or scores from any fantasy platform. You write the question and your league confirms the result.

Can my league pay me on Venmo instead?

Poll is not a payment app and does not connect to Venmo or Cash App. League mates add funds with Apple Pay, a debit or credit card, or a USDC transfer, then stake on the bet.

What does it cost to run the league pot on Poll?

Deposits are free and withdrawals cost $1 to $2. Poll takes a small percentage from winning payouts only. Cancelled or tied bets have no fee.

Why does the page say cash?

Cash is the simple label for the wager amount. The underlying balance and settlement asset in Poll wallets is USDC.

Before the draft

Draft night is enough admin already.

Run this season's pot as one private bet and the buy-in stops being yours to chase, hold, or hand back.
